For centuries, a solitary sentinel has stood guard at the entrance to the Blue Mounds pack's lands.  Few these days pay any attention to "the statue", and even fewer question why or how it came with the pack from Lunara to Vidaliya.  To this day, Rebel, Jewel, Creamy, and perhaps Finn, may be the only pack members who know the full story of this sentinel, and even they don't divulge much.

You see, this "statue" is actually a Lykos named Ismat.  Long ago, so long ago now that even they can barely remember, they had a warm, mobile body, wings made of feathers, and horns with a single curl.  They were a guardian of their pack, and proud of that role.  For a cub to be born blind in one eye, as they had, and still become a pack guardian was unusual indeed.

Then, calamity struck.

In their current state, Ismat finds communication difficult, and the story of how they were cursed is not one they willingly tell.  Jewel and Rebel are the two most "sensitive" pack members, and both report receiving only images and impressions in response to their questions about the curse.  Jewel's best guess is that Ismat was cursed for somehow failing in their duties as guard.  Rebel thinks that perhaps Ismat's former pack was attacked and that the curse might have been part of that attack.  What is clear is that the curse only allows Ismat to move iif the Blue Mounds pack must move, or in times of great danger to the pack - hence how Ismat was able to follow them from Lunara to Vidaliya.  Thus it's clear that the curse is tied to Ismat, rather than to any specific place.
