Rebel is Jewel's foster father and was once her teacher, although his skill in using magic to heal far surpasses hers. He was born with Druidic gifts, and can tap into the veins of power that run through the world, much like a miner would tap into a vein of copper ore. He believes that all things have their own patterns, and being particularly sensitive to those of other Lykos, he can sense injuries as breaks in the physical pattern of an injured Lykos and sometimes heal them accordingly. He is also a believer in the balance of nature. He is not always very eloquent, however; in fact, Rebel has a decided tendency to open his mouth only to stick his paw in it.
