Cernnunos's Profile
The God in the Wild Wood
The Horned King
Cernnunos
A heart freely given must be protected, for all that the rogue wanders free. Cernnunos will not chase Huehuecoyotl, but he will remain here and offer freely his heart for as long as the Coyote strays back to his blessed wood.
One of the Old Gods born long before the Usurper, Cernnunos struck a delicate balance between Life and Death. He protects the forests he calls home as the God in the Wild Wood, transforming the energy of those that die there into the essence of life itself. He is the spirit of the forest itself, wild and free and everchanging. The path he walks bursts with life at every step, and all life prospers in his regard. Leaves of oak and holly weave in his hair and vines of ivy twine around his horns.
Possessing a beautiful star, a gift from the godling Sterling, he brings light to the densest forests and darkest nights, ensuring that even the overshadowed have a chance at life.
His anger is slow to rouse, but once it is, well...that might be why the Earth sometimes quakes and the waters rise and flood.
He's very protective of those he holds dear, and once his heart is given, it's very difficult to sway...much to his detriment at times. He gave it to a precocious coyote with a wandering eye, and the forest he lives in sighs mightily when the rogue blows in...and then out again, leaving its lord saddened and heartsore and the forest brown and barren for a time.
He's also obstinate and stubborn and kind of a pain in the butt...just because he can. >_>
